Resource Options, Inc. is thrilled to have had an opportunity to interview Rob Carmody; Recruiter (Wethersfield, CT in our Environmental Group) for an internal spotlight. Rob has a passion for helping people and enjoys connecting candidates to their future careers.

Question 1: Why did you choose ROI?

construction recruiting

Rob: I was still attending school at University of Hartford when I was first looking around for a job. I wasn’t completely sure of the direction I wanted to take my Business/Finance Degree in, but I knew I wanted to help people. I knew very little about recruiting at the time, but after doing some research I felt like it would be a great fit for me. After meeting the ROI team, I knew I wanted to work for them. They felt like family from the start.

Question 2: What stood out to you when interviewing with ROI?

Rob: From the very first interview, I felt a connection with everyone from ROI. They made me feel welcome and comfortable. They want recruiters to grow within the company. During one of my interviews, they said they don’t hire recruiters, they hire future division managers. This really stuck out to me because I was about to graduate and wanted to find a workplace, I could grow in. ROI places an emphasis on the professional development of their recruiters. They want to see their employees succeed.

Question 3: What do you like most about being a Recruiter?

Rob: I have really enjoyed learning about the construction and environmental industries, but my favorite part about being a recruiter is connecting candidates to their future careers. I have met some amazing people while working at ROI and have great relationships with all my candidates.

Question 4: What can you say about ROI to college students looking to become a recruiter after graduation?

Rob: ROI places a high value on company culture and it is a great place to start your professional career after college. They have taken us to hockey games and golf outings to get to know each other outside of the office. Everyone in the Connecticut office and even the people I have met in our other offices are awesome people. Search jobs

Question 5: What are some interesting things about you?

Rob: I love sports! I played Division 1 baseball at the University of Hartford for five years throughout my undergrad and master’s program. I am a superfan of all Boston sports teams: the Boston Redsox, the Celtics, the Boston Bruins, and the New England Patriots. My favorite food is steak, preferably a filet.
