Seeking NYC Asbestos Investigators/NYS DOL Inspectors with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Thorough knowledge of NYC DEP, NYS DOL and EPA rules and regulations regarding asbestos investigations required. This position requires regular travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City as well as Long Island and the Tri-state area. Flexibility is imperative as surveys may need to be performed outside of regular business hours, including nights and weekends.

Salary: $100K-$110K depending on qualifications and expeirence

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct building investigations/inspections for asbestos and asbestos-related hazards.
  • Collect bulk samples of suspect materials, clearly identifying each sample and hand delivering the samples to an approved laboratory for analysis.
  • Review and interpret results, estimate quantities of all suspect materials and issue detailed reports to clients.
  • Review and mark up sample locations on drawings and indicate areas with ACM.
  • Conduct ACP5 investigations and issue the ACP5.
  • Responsible for maintaining detailed, accurate asbestos survey records.
  • Correspond with clients, expeditors, architects, etc.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • B.S. Environmental Science or other related scientific discipline. A high school graduate with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement.
