Job Description
Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Survey Technician to join our team in Newfoundland, NJ. The Survey Technician will support survey operations by collecting, analyzing, and processing data for a variety of land and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in field surveying, proficiency with survey equipment, and a strong understanding of mapping and data collection techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with field data collection using GPS, Total Station, and other surveying instruments.
- Perform topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
- Record and maintain accurate notes, sketches, and data for field projects.
- Download, process, and analyze survey data using CAD software and other surveying tools.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of survey results.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards on all job sites.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating surveying instruments such as GPS, Total Station, and data collectors.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD software is a plus.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to various job sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Capability to stand, walk, and carry surveying equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
