Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team and be part of a rapidly growing airport engineering consultancy firm. This position provides the ideal candidate with an exciting opportunity to expand their career during this important period in the company’s history, while we actively participate in the expansion and improvement of airports, both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate for this position should possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with their respective project teams. Key responsibilities will include detailed design and preparing reports, technical specifications, and proposals for airport-related construction projects for key local, regional domestic, and international airport clients. Typical airside development projects include pavements, geometry, grading, drainage, visual aids, navigational aids, utilities, and other associated construction items.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Work with a team of professionals to support our civil engineering projects.
- Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.
- Preparation of design plans and specifications per FAA Advisory Circulars and PANYNJ Design Standards.
- Assist in the preparation of permitting, design, and construction documents.
- Technical and design report writing.
- Provide support with business development and client relations.
- Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues.
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training Certificate preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in all aspects of site civil engineering for airport design, including geometric design, grading and drainage design, utility design, etc.
- Experience in delivering and managing all stages of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initial studies through to detailed design.
- Experience with Civil 3D is preferred and full proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
- Full proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Superior attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to represent the company in client-facing roles at all levels.
- Working knowledge and related experience of FAA and State DOT grant filing procedures, other aviation-related approval procedures (TCAP, TAA, FAA Form 7460 etc.) and environmental permitting requirements (CAFRA, SPDES, etc.) a plus.
