Job Description

Position Overview: Our firm is seeking motivated technical professionals with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to join our team as a full-time Project Engineer. We are a licensed Civil and Environmental Engineering firm in Connecticut, focused on delivering quality technical services to municipal and institutional clients, as well as federal and state agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design civil and environmental projects, including sanitary sewers, wastewater pump stations, subsurface sewage disposal systems (both small and large scale), and water supply systems.
  • Understand and apply the design and permitting criteria set by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications.
  • Write reports and perform cost estimates.
  • Manage permitting processes.
  • Present findings and proposals to land use commissions and clients.
  • Primarily office-based (95%) with some fieldwork (5%).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal engineering and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • EIT certification required; PE certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and under supervision.
  • Competent in performing accurate engineering computations.
  • Ambitious and eager to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.
  • Committed to working efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Capable of safely navigating project sites in varying weather conditions.
  • Energetic, professional attitude with a solid work ethic.
