Job Description
Position Overview: Our firm is seeking motivated technical professionals with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to join our team as a full-time Project Engineer. We are a licensed Civil and Environmental Engineering firm in Connecticut, focused on delivering quality technical services to municipal and institutional clients, as well as federal and state agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design civil and environmental projects, including sanitary sewers, wastewater pump stations, subsurface sewage disposal systems (both small and large scale), and water supply systems.
- Understand and apply the design and permitting criteria set by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications.
- Write reports and perform cost estimates.
- Manage permitting processes.
- Present findings and proposals to land use commissions and clients.
- Primarily office-based (95%) with some fieldwork (5%).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal engineering and infrastructure improvement projects.
- EIT certification required; PE certification preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and under supervision.
- Competent in performing accurate engineering computations.
- Ambitious and eager to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.
