Primary Responsibilities (additional tasks may be assigned):
  • Assist in structural engineering projects under the guidance of a senior engineer.
  • Assess bridges and other transportation infrastructure to determine repair or replacement needs. Design and detail necessary work, and calculate quantity and construction cost estimates.
  • Perform bridge load capacity assessments and generate rating reports.
  • Participate in field inspections of structures, including taking photos, measurements, and producing sketches.
  • Communicate observations clearly, using sketches and technical writing to convey relevant information.
  • Operate personnel lift equipment, climb ladders, set up traffic control devices, and support inspection tasks.
  • Assist in analyzing data and information to complete routine design tasks.
  • Prepare environmental documentation and other reports for project permitting.
  • Occasionally contribute to additional engineering activities such as CADD production, field data collection, construction inspection, materials testing, and surveying.
  • Keep the Project Manager updated on workload, changes in project schedules, scope adjustments, or additional services.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD/MicroStation.
  • A team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple project demands and shifting priorities.
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the continental United States.
  • Actively engages in collaborative problem-solving, seeks to learn from colleagues, and encourages knowledge-sharing among team members.
Pay Range:
$70 – 90k
