DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
  • Coordinate and manage project meetings, including kick-off, milestone, and closeout meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among internal and external team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure that timelines are adhered to, both internally and with external resources, to achieve project goals efficiently.
  • Prepare technical reports for clients, detailing existing conditions and offering recommendations for repairs or rehabilitation.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication through written correspondence with clients and contractors throughout the project.
  • Stay adaptable by utilizing new technologies, construction management tools, and CRM systems.
  • Organize and maintain project records, files, photos, drawings, and other essential data for easy access and future reference.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and contributing to the team’s overall success.
  • Work with spreadsheets, calculations, and forecasting to assess project progress and financial health.
  • Collaborate with the team to understand project scope, budgets, goals, deliverables, and timelines to ensure successful completion.
Field:
  • Conduct on-site evaluations, document current conditions, perform field testing, take photos, and create sketches. Track construction work progress to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Accurately measure and document field data, and track quantities throughout the project.
  • Interpret investigation reports and bid documents, including drawings and specifications, to guide contractors in the proper execution of construction work.
  • Manage multiple projects, including roofing, cladding, deck, balcony, and stair rehabilitation work.
  • Have knowledge of wood, metal, and concrete construction methods, and stay current on building envelope design standards and materials.
  • Maintain self-motivation and provide daily updates to managers and owners via email or memos.
Office:
  • Assist with preparing design drawings, specifications, and bid documents as needed.
  • Communicate project progress and address any arising issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Evaluate and review change orders, considering their impact on scope, schedule, and budget, and provide recommendations to the senior management team.
  • Review payment applications and budget forecasts, verifying the accuracy of work completed and materials supplied by contractors.
Client Relations and Business Development:
  • Participate in client meetings under senior personnel's direction, focusing on taking meeting minutes, communicating the meeting’s agenda, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.
  • Support senior staff in planning, organizing, and leading project meetings, effectively communicating project objectives, deliverables, and action items to all stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, seminars, and continuing education presentations to enhance visibility and build professional networks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Technical trade school training in a relevant field will also be considered.
Work Experience:
  • At least two years of experience in an architectural/engineering consulting firm or within the construction industry, including general or specialty contracting services.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Certification is not required initially; however, candidates with or pursuing industry-related certifications (such as IIBEC Building Envelope or ICC Building Code certifications) are preferred. Engineers-in-Training (EIT) aiming for Professional Engineer (PE) certification or architects-in-training working toward Registered Architect (RA) certification are also encouraged to apply.
  • OSHA-10 Certification is preferred.
  • A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required, as travel to client sites is part of the job.
