Resource Options is partnering with a highly respected, multi-disciplinary Environmental and Engineering firm located in Hartford County. We are seeking a talented Geotechnical Field Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to a wide range of exciting projects across various sectors.

Position Overview:
As a Geotechnical Field Engineer, you will play a key role in providing engineering and consulting services for diverse projects. This includes leading and conducting field investigations, performing engineering analysis and calculations, developing design plans, conducting inspections, and preparing detailed reports. You will also be responsible for reviewing drawings and construction to ensure compliance with specifications and recommending solutions for design and construction challenges.

Your role will also involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fieldwork & Engineering Analysis: Lead or participate in field investigations and data collection; perform engineering analysis and calculations for a variety of projects.
  • Design & Development: Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and designs, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and client requirements.
  • Observation & Inspection: Conduct field observations and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports and documentation for ongoing projects, including the evaluation of routine laboratory and field data.
  • Client Communication: Collaborate with technical teams, clients, and supervisors to communicate engineering concepts, project status, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proposals & Cost Estimates: Assist in drafting proposals, preparing cost estimates, tracking project budgets, and assessing project progress.
  • Problem Resolution: Research and address design and construction challenges to ensure projects stay on track and meet required standards.
  • Safety & Quality Compliance: Follow safety protocols, report concerns, and maintain quality standards across all aspects of the work.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (required).
  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred).
  • 0-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) designation is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for work-related projects.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex engineering issues to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, testing, and inspection processes.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer and contribute effectively to team-based projects.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to fieldwork and problem-solving.
