Job Description

As an Asbestos Monitor, you are responsible for overseeing asbestos abatement projects to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This includes conducting on-site inspections, collecting air samples, and documenting contractor activities throughout the project. The role requires strong attention to detail, report writing skills, and regular travel to various residential and commercial job sites.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct asbestos surveys of residential and commercial buildings, primarily for disaster restoration projects.

  • Perform other hazardous material surveys, including mold, indoor air quality, and lead paint.

  • Assist in the management of asbestos abatement projects from planning to completion.

  • Prepare detailed survey reports and project proposals.

  • Provide consultation and support to a diverse client base.

  • Travel daily to multiple job sites and an analytical laboratory using a company vehicle.

  • Maintain flexible availability based on client needs, including evenings and weekends when necessary.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting asbestos surveys.

  • Massachusetts Asbestos Inspector License required.

  • Rhode Island and New Hampshire Asbestos Inspector Licenses, and additional MA asbestos licenses (Designer, Management Planner, Project Monitor, Supervisor) are a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field is preferred.

  • Familiarity with the disaster restoration and insurance industries is beneficial.

  • Working knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures and project management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with DocuSketch and CAD is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout MA, RI, and NH.

  • Physically able to stand, walk, drive, lift items over 25 pounds, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay Range: $65k-90k depending on experience
