Job Description

A Civil CAD Technician plays a key role in the planning, design, and documentation of civil engineering projects through the use of MicroStation, Open Roads, and 3D modeling tools. By combining technical proficiency, attention to detail, collaboration, and a solid understanding of civil engineering principles, the technician supports the successful development and execution of infrastructure designs, contributing to both the daily workflow and long-term success of engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Use MicroStation and Open Roads to produce design drawings and specifications for civil engineering projects.
  • Develop and manage 3D models, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections.
  • Employ Storm Flow modules to analyze drainage systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to gather project requirements and objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including reports, presentations, and project summaries.
  • Review and adjust designs based on feedback and evolving project needs.
  • Conduct quality control checks on drawings and models to maintain accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay informed on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
 
  • Associate’s degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with MicroStation and Open Roads Design software; familiarity with Storm Flow modules is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
Pay Range: $30.00/hr. - $40.00/hr.
