We are collaborating with a highly regarded and expanding multi-disciplinary engineering firm in the NYC area to find an experienced rail/transit Project Manager to join their transportation division. The Project Manager will oversee projects throughout all phases, from design to procurement, construction, and closeout. This role involves managing resources, addressing risks, and ensuring that project goals related to schedule, budget, quality, and safety are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full project lifecycle for public infrastructure projects.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with project plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, and policies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of the Project Management Plan (PMP).
  • Chair project meetings and coordinate technical disciplines.
  • Support clients with scope development, procurement, and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor safety, environmental compliance, and quality control.
  • Oversee change orders, claims management, and budget forecasting.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor project team members.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage interagency coordination with utilities and public stakeholders.
  • Lead junior staff, including training and performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and value engineering sessions. 


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing infrastructure or transit/rail projects (MTA, NYCT, LIRR, AMTRAK, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure projects exceeding $25M
  • Strong negotiation and contract administration skills
  • Experience with union labor, MWBE/SBE participation, and agency procedures
  • Familiarity with FTA, FRA, or FHWA compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
  • PE or CCM certification preferred
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
