Job Description
Our client is a specialized consulting firm in geotechnical engineering, environmental services, and construction materials testing throughout the Northeast. Their team supports infrastructure and development projects by providing reliable inspection and testing services during the construction phase. Known for their strong technical reputation and collaborative culture, they continue to grow by taking on challenging projects and investing in the development of their field staff.
We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join this team. This role is ideal for someone with field experience who enjoys working on active construction sites and ensuring that projects are built according to engineering specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
• Perform construction phase testing and inspection of foundation construction, earthwork, soil compaction, concrete, reinforcing steel, and other construction materials.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering standards.
• Conduct field density testing using nuclear density gauges and other testing equipment.
• Prepare clear and detailed daily field reports documenting site activities, testing results, and observations.
• Communicate inspection findings with contractors, engineers, and project teams.
• Travel to and from construction sites, which may require driving long distances depending on project locations.
• Maintain professionalism and safety awareness while working on active construction sites.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction inspection, materials testing, or related field work.
• Nuclear Density Gauge Operator certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document field observations clearly and accurately.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with project teams.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying site conditions and terrain.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.
Pay Range: $21.00/hr. - $23.00/hr.
