Job Description
If you’re an experienced Generator Service Technician who takes pride in reliable work, sharp troubleshooting, and keeping customers powered when it matters most — we want to talk to you.
We’re looking for a dependable, skilled technician who can service, diagnose, and repair residential and commercial standby generators with confidence and professionalism.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll handle everything from routine maintenance and load testing to complex diagnostics and emergency service calls. You’ll work directly with homeowners, property managers, and businesses to ensure their generator systems are prepared, compliant, and running at peak performance.
Generator Service Technician Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic services on residential and commercial standby generators (natural gas, propane, diesel)

Install and commission generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and associated electrical components

Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to ensure reliability during outages

Respond to service calls, identify root causes, and provide accurate solutions and recommendations

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer manuals

Complete service documentation, maintenance logs, and customer reports with accuracy

Work with customers professionally — explaining issues, outlining solutions, and ensuring satisfaction

Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in clean, working order

Coordinate with office staff, project managers, and team members to schedule and complete service efficiently
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

Proven experience servicing residential and/or commercial generators (Generac, Kohler, Cummins, etc.)

Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and comfort working with transfer switches and control systems

Ability to read schematics, follow manufacturer procedures, and diagnose issues independently

Excellent customer communication and professionalism during on-site visits

A commitment to safety, accuracy, and high-quality workmanship

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Pay Range: $33.00/hr. – $38.00/hr.
