Operations & Maintenance Technician – Remediation & Water Treatment
We are seeking a skilled Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our team, bringing expertise in remediation systems and a mechanical aptitude. The O&M Tech will play a key role in operations and upkeep of multiple remediation systems throughout Northern, NJ in collaboration with a team of technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety procedures in compliance with OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, site-specific HASPs, and company SOPs.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain groundwater, industrial wastewater, and air treatment systems to ensure proper performance and uptime.
- Inspect equipment, respond to alarms and emergency conditions, and communicate issues to supervision as required.
- Collect groundwater and wastewater samples, perform basic field testing, and maintain accurate system logbooks and maintenance records.
- Perform routine process calculations and adjust chemical feed systems (acids, bases, oxidizers, coagulants, flocculants) using pumps and metering equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and assist with mechanical repairs on pumps, valves, piping, clarifiers, and related treatment equipment.
- Maintain chemical and supply inventories, assist with deliveries and change-outs, and use computer-based maintenance systems and Microsoft Office for reporting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required (current or ability to obtain prior to site work).
- Ability to perform hands-on field work in active remediation and water treatment environments.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to work outdoors and respond to operational needs.
