Environmental Scientist (3-8 Years Experience)

The Environmental Scientist position offers a motivated professional with 3–8 years of experience the opportunity to join a rapidly growing environmental consulting and remediation team. This role provides a balance of office responsibilities (approximately 70%) and field/onsite work and travel (approximately 30%), offering exposure to a wide range of project types and client industries in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Opportunities for advancement include Senior Environmental Scientist and Project Manager. This position does not require overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities:

In the Field:

• Conduct Phase I/II ESA site investigations

• Oversee field sampling programs (soil, groundwater, vapor, sediment)

• Participate in environmental remediation and construction oversight activities

• Prepare and maintain daily field logs and documentation

• Ensure compliance with site safety and regulatory requirements

• Coordinate with subcontractors, project teams, and site personnel

• Operate field instruments and sampling equipment

In the Office:

• Support project planning, scope development, and budget tracking

• Assist with environmental reporting and regulatory submittals (NJDEP and related programs)

• Analyze and manage environmental data; prepare figures, maps, and summary tables

• Draft technical reports including investigation summaries and remediation documentation

• Support project scheduling and logistics

• Assist with proposal preparation and client communication

• Develop and expand knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards

Qualifications:

• 3 to 8 years of environmental consulting or related experience

• B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related discipline

• Strong field investigation background and regulatory familiarity (NJ experience preferred)

• Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office; GIS/CADD experience a plus

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record

Pay Range: $60,000 - 80,000 Commensurate with Experience.
