Responsibilities:
As an Environmental Health & Safety Consultant, your expertise will play a key role in supporting client compliance programs and promoting safe work environments. Your key responsibilities will include:

Measure occupational and environmental hazards, such as noise and ergonomics, using calibrated scientific equipment and defined operating procedures

Collect samples of dusts, vapors, and gases in accordance with established protocols

Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of engineered control systems, including fume hoods and ventilation systems

Participate in inspections and examinations of machinery and equipment, including lifting devices, machine guarding, and scaffolding

Conduct workplace safety inspections according to defined procedures, evaluating use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with applicable regulations
-
Engage directly with workers during inspections by observing work practices and discussing safety concerns

Identify potential accident and health hazards, including toxic vapors, mold, mildew, and explosive gas-air mixtures, and assist with implementation of appropriate control measures

Assist with accident and injury investigations by identifying causes and recommending corrective actions

Communicate clearly with client personnel regarding workplace safety issues and recommended corrective actions

Conduct routine EH&S safety training independently, including new employee orientation, hazard communication, and fork truck training

Prepare written documentation and reports, including accident reports and OSHA recordkeeping forms

Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of occupational health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and manuals
Qualifications:
We're seeking a motivated professional who brings technical knowledge, professionalism, and strong client service skills to every engagement. Ideal candidates will have:

Intrinsically motivated, willing, and able to continue gaining EH&S expertise

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field

Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in an Environmental Health & Safety capacity

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
-
Valid United States driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
-
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Prior experience as a consultant or professional advisor to third-party clients
-
Completion of two or more industry-recognized trainings, such as OSHA 10 or 30, HAZWOPER, DOT/IATA Hazardous Materials Transportation, or ABSA

Active membership in at least one national professional safety organization, including local chapters

Progress toward obtaining a professional certification or designation (CSP, CHMM, CIH, or similar)
Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000
