We’re hiring an Experienced Environmental Scientist to support sustainability, compliance, and environmental initiatives across projects throughout New York City. Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental site assessments (Phase I and II ESAs) and field investigations across NYC project sites.
- Collect soil, groundwater, air, and surface water samples and coordinate laboratory testing.
- Prepare technical reports, environmental impact statements, and regulatory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
- Support remediation projects, site monitoring, and sustainability initiatives.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to maintain project timelines and compliance.
- Assist with stormwater management plans, hazardous materials assessments, and permitting processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience conducting environmental assessments and fieldwork in urban environments.
- Strong knowledge of NYC, NYSDEC, and EPA environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience with environmental sampling, data analysis, and technical report writing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- On-site and field-based role across New York City.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to environmental stewardship.
Pay Range: $60,000 – $110,000
