Responsibilities:

As an Environmental Scientist, your expertise will play a key role in the successful completion of project, ensuring each component meets our client's high standards. This role is heavily field-based and centered around MCP-related site assessment and remediation activities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support and implement Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) assessment and remediation activities.

  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II investigations including property research, site reconnaissance, and field investigations.

  • Perform extensive field work including soil, groundwater, surface water, soil gas, and indoor air sampling.

  • Oversee and document subsurface drilling, monitoring well installation, excavation, and remediation subcontractor activities.

  • Provide on-site remedial action oversight and contractor coordination.

  • Conduct wellhead elevation surveys and site inspections.

  • Respond to emergency spill events and provide field oversight as needed.

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain, including construction sites and active remediation projects.

  • Carry and operate field monitoring and sampling equipment (up to 40 pounds).

  • Tabulate and evaluate laboratory analytical data and support data interpretation under MCP guidelines.

  • Prepare MCP-related documentation and environmental monitoring reports for senior review.

  • Assist with ASTM environmental due diligence services, landfill compliance obligations, and underground/aboveground storage tank compliance projects.

  • Travel regularly to project sites throughout Massachusetts and meet with clients as needed.


Qualifications:

We're seeking an experienced professional who brings strong field capability, technical skill, and an eagerness to learn. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering; Environmental Science; Geology; Chemistry; or related discipline required (Master’s degree a plus).

  • 1–5 years of relevant field experience, preferably with MCP-related projects.

  • Strong interest in hands-on field work and site investigation activities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe required.

  • Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training certificate preferred (training provided if necessary).

  • Understanding of the ASTM site assessment process and Massachusetts MCP regulations is strongly preferred.

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to observe, document, and communicate field conditions.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism.

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions with flexibility and preparedness.

  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable vehicle required.


Pay Range: $27.00/hr. - $37.00/hr.
