Utility Operator

As a Utility Operator, you will support daily landfill operations by assisting with traffic control, site maintenance, and general facility upkeep. This position requires hands-on labor in an outdoor environment, operation of light equipment, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, and comfortable working in all weather conditions while contributing to a safe and efficient site operation.

Position Responsibilities:

• Check trucks in and out of the landfill and direct on-site traffic as needed

• Perform manual labor including paper picking and maintaining a clean, presentable landfill

• Conduct yard work such as cutting weeds and general grounds maintenance

• Climb and tarp train cars as required

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs, including painting and janitorial duties

• Operate light equipment safely and effectively

• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

• Complete miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

• Minimum one year of stable employment history in a similar environment

• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

• Ability to work a flexible schedule in all weather conditions

• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures

• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork

Pay Range: $20.00/hr. - $22.00/hr.
