Air Quality Monitor / Environmental Field Technician

Join a Leading Team as an Air Quality Monitor / Environmental Field Technician! Are you an early-career environmental professional looking to grow your experience in environmental monitoring and compliance? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Air Quality Monitor / Environmental Field Technician to join our team and support a variety of asbestos abatement and regulated building material projects across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.

This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 6 months of relevant field experience who is looking to build their career with a company that provides strong mentorship, hands-on project exposure, a company vehicle, and a gas card.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects, including PCM sampling and clearance testing

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain air monitoring and sampling equipment

• Collect bulk samples of suspect asbestos-containing materials in accordance with regulatory requirements

• Provide on-site oversight of abatement activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and health & safety protocols

• Maintain detailed field notes, logs, and daily reports documenting site activities and findings

• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and clients to support successful project execution

• Review laboratory data and assist in preparing technical reports and clearance documentation

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and applicable state guidelines

• Travel to project sites across commercial, industrial, and residential environments

Qualifications:

We’re seeking a motivated professional with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Ideal candidates will have:

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• At least 6 months of experience in environmental monitoring, industrial hygiene, environmental consulting, or related fieldwork

• Active or expired Asbestos Project Monitor license is a plus

• Familiarity with asbestos regulations and industry standards (OSHA, EPA, and state-specific requirements)

• Experience or exposure to air sampling methods, clearance testing, or abatement oversight

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced field environments

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites, including occasional overnight stays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications in lead, mold, or hazardous materials

• Experience with commercial, healthcare, industrial, or residential projects

• Familiarity with regulatory reporting and project documentation requirements

• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain)

Pay Range: $60,000 – $85,000 annually
