Responsibilities:
As a Solid Waste Inspector, your work will support both day-to-day compliance activities and broader permitting and operational initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting solid waste facility inspections and preparing detailed compliance reports

Supporting MassDEP annual reporting and Quarterly MPS reporting

Assisting with preparation of technical reports and permit applications, including:

Operations and Maintenance Plans
-
Waste Ban Compliance Plans
-
Closure Plans
-
Site Suitability applications
-
Contributing to MEPA filings (ENF, EIR, NPC) and other regulatory documentation

Communicating with clients and regulatory agencies to support compliance and permitting efforts

Managing inspection schedules and ensuring regulatory reporting deadlines are met

Collaborating with internal teams to support both field operations and office-based reporting and documentation

Providing general compliance support, including data tracking, quality control, and process improvements
Qualifications:
-
We are seeking motivated professionals with strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ideal candidates will have:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
-
3+ years of experience in solid waste inspections, reporting, operations, and/or permitting
-
Current MassDEP Third-Party Inspector certification (required)
-
Experience with MassDEP regulations, including waste ban compliance and reporting requirements

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
Preferred Qualifications:

Asbestos Inspector licensure
-
Experience with landfill, transfer station, recycling, or composting facility operations

Familiarity with MEPA filings and MassDEP permitting processes
-
Background in consulting with exposure to multiple clients and projects
-
Strong technical writing skills for regulatory reports and applications
-
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Pay Range: $90,000 - $130,000 annually
