Job Description

We are currently seeking a Civil Site Engineer in the New London County. Our ideal candidate will have experience with Site/civil design on a variety of projects, including, but not limited to, the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion. Position Responsibilities:

  • Performing site layout, grading, drainage, and septic design.
  • Preparing development plans and scheduling.
  • Coordinating other engineering and construction during the design process.
  • Preparing cost estimates, scheduling, and specifications.
  • Participate in client meetings, communicate with contractors for submittals and rep writing.
  • Performing construction management and oversight.
  • Preparing various permit applications for both local and state requirements.
  • Designing sewer collection systems and water distribution systems.
  • Stormwater management design and calculations.
  • Experience with planning board and public testimony experience preferred.
  • Utilize reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil. composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
  • Detailed preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
  • On occasion, assist in field related tasks inclusive of soil testing, land surveying, and construction oversight.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment, as well as, mentor junior level staff.
  • 2 - 5 years of prior relevant professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage and erosion control measures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
  • FE/EIT certification and/or P.E. license highly preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or AutoCAD Land Development Desktop
  • Proficiency in HydroCAD and other related applications a plus
