This long-term opportunity provides safety and onsite training with PPE equipment provided. The qualified individual will work directly under the supervision of a Laborer performing the functions listed below. Position: Construction Laborer
Requirements (May Include But Not Limited To):
- Perform setup and clean up tasks at job site, including removal of debris
- Assist with the loading, unloading and delivery of materials and equipment.
- Demolition & rubbish removal, dig trenches, compacting earth and back filling holes
- May operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and provide labor support as necessary for carpenters, masons, and other specialized contractors.
- Assists skilled tradespeople to position, align, and fit together construction components to complete the installation of systems and work assigned in a timely and quality fashion.
- Build, move and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, equipment and materials.
- Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, as well, as, company policy and procedures.
- Direct traffic within construction site when necessary to ensure safety of work crew.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly and securely.
Position Qualifications:
- No experience required but history working on residential and/or commercial job sites preferred
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
- Willing to work and travel in all weather conditions and have reliable transportation.
- Experience with exposure to heights, chemicals, dust, dirt, fumes, noise, sludge and moving mechanical parts
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to spend long periods of time in awkward positions such as bending, reaching and kneeling.
- Ability to work under pressure, collaborate with diverse personalities, and complete assignments according to project timelines.
- Ability to work 40 hours a week, and over time if needed.
