Site Project Manager
 
ROI is partnering with a dynamic, family feel, Civil / Commercial Building Company in Litchfield County in their pursuit for a Project Manager.  Projects will include diverse civil sitework and heavy highway projects in the public and private sectors.  Including earthmoving, road construction, utility installation foundation excavations, site concrete, asphalt paving, landscaping and finishes.  The Project Manager will be involved in all aspects and phases of the projects, both in the office and the field.  Including start-up, scheduling, submittals, quality control, project safety, subcontractor management, cost control and ultimately the total delivery of the project according to the established plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Read and understand job bid instructions, plans, specifications, proposals, and contracts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Analyze Estimates from subcontractors and suppliers to review for accuracy and negotiate favorable pricing.
  • Accurately takeoff and procure materials.
  • Create and track contract documents, including clearly written proposals and correspondence.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to create and implement project schedules, manage project scope, and reduce cost exposure.
  • Identify, price, and track change order work
  • Work as a team with project managers, project engineers, superintendents, and accounting staff to manage costs, project budget, and ensure project delivery goals.
  • Work as a team with vertical building group on GC projects
  • Oversee and manage subcontractors to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Attend and contribute to job meetings and management team meetings.
  • Manage a variety of reports, work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Assist Estimating department with takeoffs, estimates, and budgets.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a project manager with heavy civil and sitework projects including public and CT DOT clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and leadership abilities.
  • Flexible, well organized, detail oriented, and multi tasking skills.
  • Experience with MS Office/Excel/Word/Outlook, Primavera or MS Project required.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavybid and Heavyjob, Agtek is a plus.  Must be able to learn these software packages within the first year.
