Resource Options, Inc.

Meet your recruiter – Joseph Bua

Resource Options, Inc. is delighted to have had the opportunity to interview Joe, a recruiter in the West Caldwell, New Jersey office, for an internal spotlight. Joe has held numerous positions in sales and recruitment over the years. We asked him why he chose ROI, what his methodology is for finding the perfect candidate, and some fun facts about him.

recruiter spotlight1. Why did you choose ROI?

Joe: I had several interviews with different recruiting firms, but after my first interview with ROI, I knew they were the right one. I really connected with everyone there. I was able to be myself and I felt a part of something bigger. It was a simple decision for me to come work for the ROI New Jersey office because it was mainly about the people. And, if you really think about it, the company is the people.

2. What makes ROI special?

Joe: ROI recruiters work hard to identify each candidate’s capabilities and build career paths around them. They want to learn about the candidate’s interests, career goals and will assist you every step of the way throughout the hiring process. ROI truly helps our candidates get to where they want to be in their career. I’ve worked in sales for over a decade and recruiting for a few years, and I’ve always said ROI genuinely listens, and that’s what sets it apart from other firms. It is the first place where I felt like I belonged.

3. What is your opinion about what makes candidates attractive to your clients?

Joe: It’s easy to tell a customer that someone is the best prospect for them and then run off a list of all of their qualities. What my manager and I do is earn the client’s trust, so they know we are bringing them only the best candidates. Building trust with your clients by providing them with only exceptional candidates speaks for itself and distinguishes you from the competition. The client remembers that.

4. How are you able to accelerate your candidates’ careers?

Joe: We put an extraordinary amount of effort into getting to know our applicants in order to discover what might help them to advance in their careers. We take the time to ensure we are only submitting them for positions which would accelerate their professional trajectory.

Having a candidate that is not happy with their role really doesn’t help anyone; the client, the candidate, or the recruiter.  I contact my candidates constantly to make sure everything is still going well, even if I don’t have any new information. It is important to keep our relationship going and let them know they are not just a transaction to us. I always assure them that if they have a question or concern, I will be there to help in any way I can.

5. What are some special interests you have?

Joe: I try to stay as active as possible. I am really into the fitness world since I feel it’s key for your mental health. I am also a multi-instrumentalist, really enjoy being creative. Aside from that, I like trying new things, and even if I don’t like them, at least I know I tried. Feel free to connect with Joe on LinkedIn, and let him know your thoughts about his interview.
