What got you into the Staffing industry?
I stumbled into staffing, but after graduating and a short stint in the minor leagues, my hockey coach connected me with someone at ROI. I had never heard of construction staffing before, it wasn’t as well-known when I started. Back then, we had just a dozen employees, and I joined in 2003, stayed until 2021, and returned this past January.
Recruiting and staffing is all about building relationships. Yes, it’s a sales role, but the longer you stick with it, the easier and more enjoyable it becomes. This role thrives on relationship building. The more connections you make, the more you can leverage your industry insight to connect the dots. This makes you an invaluable resource, providing candidates and clients with unique opportunities and solutions.
This industry isn’t a one-and-done deal, you don’t just plant a seed and move on. Many people experience a dip after the honeymoon phase, but success comes from consistency. This industry demands sustained commitment and overcoming the inevitable challenges
Building a Career at ROI
As Regional Manager for Construction, I’ve learned in staffing success isn’t a one-time event, it’s a continues journey and celebrating the wins along the way. Even when you lose, you have to continue to play the game and then enjoying the process of winning.
