We had an opportunity to sit down and speak with ROI Recruiter, Jimmy Pare this week. Jimmy is a recruiter in the Cranston, Rhode Island office for the construction division. We discussed why Jimmy decided to work for ROI and how he builds relationships with his candidates and clients.
1. What makes ROI different from other staffing firms?

2. How do you build relationships with your candidates and clients?
I build relationships with my candidates and clients by getting to know them. I have found it to be critically important to be patient and really listen in my initial interview with a candidate. Listening intently allows me to pick-up on small details that can later provide big returns for our candidates. I make sure to communicate with them during every step of the hiring process.
It is similar with our clients. The key is to listen to their needs and to maintain constant communication.
3. What makes a successful recruiter?
A successful recruiter is detail-orientated and organized. You also need to have excellent communication skills and be not only confident, but competitive. Personally, competition has always driven me to work harder.

I chose ROI because of the immediate positive feeling I had at my initial interview. Everyone was professional, but also friendly and approachable. There is a strong sense of belonging here at ROI. Clients are looking for hard workers. They want workers who appreciate the larger goal at hand, and the important role they play in reaching that goal. Our clients don’t want surprises. They want us to remove any surprises, so that they can remain laser-focused on their projects.
Candidates are looking for employers that have a company culture that fits their personal and professional lifestyle. When I interview candidates, many of them want to find positions where there are growth opportunities.
